After being away for few years, the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) held its gala dinner in Dubai, U.A.E. on October 22, 2015 at the Ritz Carlton DIFC Samaya Ballroom.

Around 450 guests gathered from Dubai to support the CCCL’s noble mission of treating kids with cancer. In addition to the distinguished presence of His Royal Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, U.A.E. Minister of Culture, Youth, and Social Development; who delivered a heartwarming speech expressing his longtime support to the CCCL.

Mrs. Salwa Salman, CCCL Chair then gave her speech welcoming guests and thanking HRE Sheikh Nahyan for his presence and support through the years; and thanking all guests for their loyalty and valued contributions to the center.

The highlights of our wonderful evening were Mounir’s testimony which preceded the amazing auction done by Christie’s International Auctioneer, Hugh Edmeades.

Mounir, a young talented musician, who won his battle over cancer and realized his dream of recording and performing one of his own compositions; delivered his testimony to our guests who were all ears listening to his story.

The successful auction then comprised of 5 lots: a painting by Walid Al Masri and another by Fernando Cuetara; a very unique gold and diamond necklace by Monica Vinader, a special bag by Elie Saab and a sculpture by the renowned Lebanese artist Rudy Rahme.

After dinner, all guests enjoyed Mounir’s performance of his piece entitled Path of Hope; which he had composed during his time at the CCCL; and recently recorded at Michel Fadel’s Studio.

Following the standing ovation for Mounir, the prominent pianist and music composer Michel Fadel enchanted guests with his performance accompanied by French singer Cynthia Brown and duduk player Pedro Eustache from the U.S.A.

Thanks to all who made this evening truly memorable for the CCCL; and successful in support of our kids battling cancer.
